Information for Research Degree Application
The Zeng Lab is always looking for enthusiastic students to join our team. Prospective graduate students feel free to send inquires to Prof. Zeng. We anticipate 1-4 students each year.
CityU admits graduate students centrally through the school of graduate studies and the admission is highly based on the GPA and publication records of the applicants. Exceptional candidates may be admitted through the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship scheme that offers more competitive package.The applications are open for only one round per year (Deadline: December 10th each year for Fall semester admission in the following year).
1) Financial support for graduate students:
CityU studentships offer a stipend of > HKD 18210 per month, 12 months per year, to all successful candidates. Good academic performance can qualify for the additional tuition scholarship and travel fund to attend interantional conferences.
2) English proficiency requirements of college of science and engineering:
◦a minimum TOEFL score of 550 (paper-based) or 213 (computer-based) or 79 (internet-based); or
◦a minimum overall band score of 6.5 in IELTS; or
◦a score of 490 in the Chinese mainland College English Test Band 6; or
◦other test scores that may be regarded as equivalent to TOEFL 550 (paper-based) or 213 (computer-based) or 79 (internet-based).
